I have been with my company since June 1, 2005 and am due in late January. I literally found out I was pregnant between the time I gave my notice at my old job and the time I started at my new job. I have worked for this person before so I told him right away since we are also friends. He has been very flexible to accomodate doctors appointments and so forth and has even agreed to allow me to telecommute 4 days a week and come in 1 day a week on a part time basis (I'm full time now) after the baby is born.

I'm in New York state. I have a few questions:
1) Am I going to even be able to file for disability when I go on maternity leave because I will only have been employed with this company for about 7 1/2 months?
2) How do I go about filing for disability? My company doesn't know either because it is just my boss and his wife so he would probably have me do my own paperwork anyway. So I need to do both my part and the company's part.
3) Does my coming back part time effect my disability in any way? I will be full time until the day my disability starts.

Any help is appreciated.
Thanks!
