[SIZE=4]I recently put in a 2 week notice/resignation on a Friday. On the following Monday, I was told to that it would be my last day and that I would not be paid out on my two weeks.

I have sent an e-mail to my boss that stated, "This letter is in response to your oral directions given to me today, which directed me to not complete my 2 weeks notice that I put in as a resignation request on Friday August 19, 2005. Because you have requested me to not continue working at XXX in spite of my 2 week notice, I expect to be fully compensated the notice pay for these two weeks. Additionally, I also expect to be compensated for my vacation time (that you said I would be compensated for today.)"

The manager's response was, "In response to your email, you will be paid for eight hours of show-up pay for yesterday. You will also be paid for outstanding vacation hours that you have accrued. XXX is not obligated however to pay you for the two weeks that you are requesting for “notice”. The pay for both will be included in the check that you receive next week.

Am I eligible to receive those two weeks of pay and how do I go about getting this resolved.

There is no state that requires the employer to pay out your notice period if they decide to accept your resignation immediately. You can ask, and you can expect, but you have no legal recourse (short of a valid, enforceable employment contract that requires it) if they don't agree.
