I live in Florida.I recently quit my job where I was working for over 2 yrs. The work conditons were horrible, I would get harassed, and I was doing supervisor work without getting the extra pay.So to put it all together: I was a good , hard worker, never called out and put up with a lot of 'stuff' from this job.I wrote a 2 wks notice and turned it in but things got so terrible I decided I had to leave that same day and I did leave in the middle of my shift.
Now, this is the problem.I was getting paid $10.00 an hr (for the last 1 1/2 yrs)...on my last pay check my ex boss decided to pay me only minimum wage which is $6.15 for the hours he owed me and called it the "walk out rate" for walking out of the job....never heard such a thing.I have no papers I signed ,there are no notes or anything that said that he would do that if you decide to quit. Can he legally do that ? He left my a nasty voicemail saying that is what he does to all employees who decide to walk out of his place (sounds more like personal anger and hate to me  ).Can anyone help me or tell my where I can find out about this ? By the way,a coworker there did the same thing, the same week ,and he did her the same way. Help, please !

Unfortunately, he can do that. What a lousy place to work.
