I just accepted a job with Major Power Company and during the interview process they said I would be working a 12 hr shift using the "dupont schedule" and that I would be paid according to California law. 8 hours straight time and 4 hours time and a half. The manager of the project didn't realize that was California law and doesn't want to pay us that. Many of us have moved from other states and used that 12 hour figure as what we would make. They are now saying we will be working 8 hour rotating shifts. Can we come up with an alternative schedule so we can work 12 hrs and can they offer you something and then do something else?
