I work for a chain store. Last Friday (Six Days ago) was payday. I called to check my balance on my company issued pay card and it wasn't there. I called to ask why and was told the comany never sent funds to the card. I called the company's hotline number and was told that the HR specialist didn't put all the numbers for my routing number when I switched cards. So, my pay was sent in check form to my house. I was told that it would be at my home in a few days (Thursday at the most) and low and behold, it's still not here. I was told that if it weren't here by Thursday the company could cut me a personal check and I would be paid that day. So, I waited for the mail today and it still didn't come. The HR specialist said she could cut me a personal check but I would have to wait until Tuesday to get it. The general store manager is the only person that could allow my pay to go through but he won't.
This seems like it couldn't be legal or ethical. What should I do? Any ideas?
