I was recently appointed manger of a large retail store in NY. I was told that I would receive health benefits. I have now held this position for just over 60 days and asked about the benefits. The GM told me that I had not had the job long enough, full time, to receive the benefits and that they would be given to me in a year. He said previously I was considered part time and the promotion made me full time. My hours as a sales person were in access of 40 hours a week for the past year. What recourse do I have to get my health benefits that I was promised? I have reported this to HR of the company. any help would be appreciated.
