I am currently on maternity leave in Washington State and just received a letter from my employer stating that my insurance benifits have been CANCELLED due to a reduction in my work hours. I thought WA state laws allowed for 12 weeks of maternity leave, and was never advised that there was a risk of my insurance benefits being cancelled during that time.
PLEASE HELP! Anyone heard of this, or know if anything can be done? I'm calling my insurance right now!

What did you learn when you called the insurance company?

Also, is your leave covered by the FMLA?

If so, your employer has to continue your group health benefits (is it your health insurance that has been cancelled?).
