I LIVE IN IL I was recently asked by my manager to move an object that was over 250 pounds by myself. I Told the manager I was unable to lift this item by myself and needed help. he refused to help. I then told him I cannot lift this item and informed him I made a doctors appointment for later that week because I was having back pain. he then said if I didn't have a doctors note that day I would have to move this item. I refused. the manager had me written up for insubordination. Are there any labor laws in IL regarding lifting heavy objects?

If there are any labor laws in any state regarding the lifting of heavy objects, I am not aware of them.
