 I live in Clewiston, Florida. I have been employeed by a company for 25 years, and was recently released with three weeks worth of severance pay. Since that time I have been hearing a lot about a severance pay law. I have heard that if a company does give a severance pay they must give you one weeks pay for each year, up to 20 years, you were employed there. I was wondering if this is true, and if so how I should go about approaching the place I was employed with the information. Thank you for any answers or advise.

Whoever you have been hearing this from is wrong. There is no legal requirement, either Federal or any state, to offer severance pay at all, let alon how much.
IMHO, 3 weeks for 25 years of employment is a slap in the face but, short of a valid employment contract requiring more, I don't see that you have any legal recourse.
Minor correction - I know of at least one state where in certain circumstances severance is required by law, but that state is not Florida and nothing in the post suggests that the particular circumstances in question have been met.
