I located in the KY labor laws the following "In no case shall an employee be required to take a lunch period sooner than three (3) hours after the work shift commences, nor more than five (5) hours from the time the work shift commences." However, my employer states that due to the type of work we perform, a call center that is based on stats, that the only law applicable to us is that the lunch must begin after the first three hours of work. Is this true? We work 10 hour shifts and were told that it's completely legal to schedule our lunch break 5.75 hours into our work schedule. I'm just looling for some clarification on the Kentucky state laws. Any help you can provide would be appreciated.
