Hi my name is Vicki and I live in California. I am a sales rep and my boss traveled with me about 2 weeks ago. At this time he asked me if I would be returning to work after my maternity leave and I told him I look forward to. He then informed me that once I went on leave that my sales territory would be given to someone else. When I asked what territory I will come back to he stated "we will just have to see how things shake out when you return." Can he legally tell me that I will not have my territory when I return? Can they take that away from me just on the basis of going on leave even though I am the #1 ranked sales person in Southern California? Also, there is collegue of mine on matenity leave right now and they are holding her territory. Is this legal to keep hers and not mine?
Any help would be great. To top it all off, our sales office here in Southern California just lost their HR manager so I don't really have someone knowledgable to speak to.
