I live in the D/FW area and would like know if anyone knows of any attorneys who do "pro bono" work in my area regarding child custody. I make too much to qualify for legal aid since my kids do not live with me; however to even begin to fight for custody after 7 years starts at $5000. I do not have that kind of money and that is just to start. My children do not want to live with their father anymore and they are 9,10,and 11 years old. They are very unhappy and have expressed that to me several times. The oldest is not his child, however, we did not want to split them up when we got divorced and the only reason I did not want custody then was because I did not want to put them in an unstable environment which I was taken from as a child. I had no job or money when we got divorced and it has taken me awhile to get there; however, I am stable now and the kids know that and have been unhappy and changed a lot in the last 3 years(which is when he got re-married). I want to help them and I want my kids, but I do not make enough to even begin and don't know where to start other than Legal Aid and they already said that I make too much money since I do not have custody of any children. If anyone could help me, I would appreciate it greatly!!!!

Thank You!
