I work for a some what small company, 16 employees. It is a franchise cleaning company. I started here 1 1/2 years ago (Feb. 2004, the company was started in Jan). In November I was promoted to quality control supervisor. In April 2005, I was again promoted, assistant manager. My daughter was sick on Monday and I followed procedure, called in the night before and a verification call at 4:30am. When I returned to work Tuesday, I was scheduled to clean (not totally unheard of). I went and did my job but when I came in at the end of the day, my boss asked to speak w/ me. He took my assistant manager position (salary $420/week) from me and put me back to a cleaner (hourly $250-275/week). The only reason he could give me is that I left him in a "bind". Is this leagal??????????

Unless you had a bona fide, enforceable contract that says otherwise, yes it is.
