Can an employer in Ohio force an hourly employee to take a pager with only $1 per hour compesation after that employee has already completed a 40 hour work week?

Can anyone point me to a website explaining the rules for being "oncall" in Ohio?

In any state, an employee does not need to receive additional compensation for carrying a pager. They have to be paid if they are called in (assuming they are non-exempt) but they do not have to be paid anything at all for carrying a pager unless the terms of the call are considered unduly restrictive. Being tied to a phone so that they can't leave the house is unduly restrictive. Being able to go about your normal routine but with a pager in your pocket is not.

If you are looking for a website that says, "An employer can only make an employee carry a pager if......." you won't find one. Sorry.
