recently my poe has done a direct deposit into my account, only to find out they had put the wrong account number. They are telling me that they can't pay me until they get something back from the bank. Granted on the check it says that the check will not be direct deposit until verification with the bank.. The bank has no record of bank deposit being made...my poe is telling me that they can't pay me for 3- 4 days past my original pay date until they get verification. Is this legal. Is there a law about paying employees on time? I am on a bi-weekly basis.

Florida has very weak wage laws. You can try talking to the Department of Workforce Innovation about this but chances are that you'll have to wait.

This is not unusual. The company wants to make sure they get their money back through the ACH system before cutting you a check. It appears that they imply they do a prenotification ($0 direct deposit-like a test), but either they didn't, they didn't leave enough time for your bank to get back to them, or your bank didn't notify them.
