Can you tell me if there are any lllinois laws that apply to the following questions?
1. Is it ok for a company to have you work on sunday from 10am to 6pm (or later) and then for you to work on Monday from 3am to 12pm? Isn't this a health risk for the employee?
2. Is their a law that requires companies to pay sick days? (my husband works for a meat distribution company. Were if you are sick you better come in if you want to get paid)

1. Is it ok for a company to have you work on sunday from 10am to 6pm (or later) and then for you to work on Monday from 3am to 12pm? Isn't this a health risk for the employee? Yes, it's okay. The employee would be tired on Monday but unless the employee is in a particularly hazardous occupation, being tired doesn't post a health risk.

2. Is their a law that requires companies to pay sick days? Is your husband paid on an hourly basis? If so, then the employer is only obligated to pay your husband for the time he actually works.
