My question is this.....My ex husband hasn't paid CS in over 10 years and I haven't had contact w/him in that long either. I need to know how to approach the courts w/an abadonment case and allow my current husband to adopt both my children. Also there is no father listed on my youngest childs BC, my ex is only on the oldest ones and he is only responsible for the oldest.

Well file for stepparent adoption and you ask him to terminate parental rights in writing, or you do service by publication in the last area he is known to be in. I suggest getting attorney help with this. It does not sound like you should ahve any real problems doing this.

Thank You for the information. I have one other question as well....I want my current husband to adopt my kids as he is the only "daddy" the kids have ever known and he has supported them for the past 6 1/2 years. Also I need to know about the owed child support. I would love to get it from him or at least some of it, since it is for my daughter (I don't care about any interest/penelties) If I should think I need the money for the kids would I still have the right to pursue what would be owed thru adoption date? I know it will take time as I don't know where he is.
