I reside in Illinois and am wondering how it works that in my divorce papers one section says that she has sole custody while another section says that we have joint care and control of the children. The judge put in the papers that I would be granted reasonable visitation. I get to see my kids every 3 weeks for 6 hrs if she doesnt come up with something else for them to do. My ex has also threatened to terminate my rights for what she calls emotional abuse. Can anyone tell me if I have reason to take her back to court for a more clear view on things or can she really do this :confused:

It sounds like sole custody meant primary physical custody, and that the judge meant joint custody in action, but it is hard to say.

You should see if the courts allow you to file a motion for clarification or correction, and consult a local attorney to get opinions on the matter.
