I was terminated after complaining about sexual harassment and sexual discrimination in the workplace over several months. My complaints were numerous. The big thing is that the discrimination and harassment was from the owner himself. I worked for the buisness about 8-9 months. I was told when fired that I was fired because I was trouble maker and no-one could get along with me.
I have decided to take legal action and was wondering about the monetary value of a case and how it is figured. Besides wanting to know how you determine how much a case is worth to the complaintent, can there be fines against the company by state (Kansas) and federal courts as well?? For how much??

You're getting way ahead of yourself. Nobody here would have any idea how much your claim is worth. There are any number of variables and specifics that have to be examined before anyone could hazard a guess, not the least of which is what the size and resources of your former employer are.
If you were discharged in retaliation for making a complaint of SH, then the first thing you need to do is file a complaint with your State's equal rights division or the federal EEOC. With any luck, they'll make a determination whether the employer acted unlawfully with the next 12 - 18 months and THEN you can sue.

Sound like a troublemaker to me! How much could it be worth? If one was truly harassed it would seem that jstice would be enough.

how do you get that this person is a troublemaker from that? and no, sometimes justice is not enough.

Someone who has been through SH always seems to end up being the bad guy, and the ones doing it either get away with it, get their hands slapped, or seem to become the victim themselves. This is not to say that there are false accusations, just that dont throw stones holliwood just becaue you feel like it.
"nuts & sluts" --that's the slang Defense Attorney's use for their strategy. It's the same technique used in defending against rape charges. Tried & True for them for many decades. The victims are often very emotional, angry, & vunerable as a result of what has happened to them. The defendants, on the other hand appear calm & rational to the courts. Defense attorny's play on that to make the plantiff look "irrational & hypersensitive." They may also pry into every corner of your private life to try to make you look "loose," or discredit you. Everything from style of dress, medical records, dating habits, you name it...for some defense attorney's everythings up for grabs.
