A few months ago my ex-husband went to jail, he is facing a 30 year sentence....of course when he went to jail, his child support payments were stopped... I really counted on the support to help us make it through the month...I don't make a very high wage and don't have the schooling to get a high paying job...my question is....is there anyway for him to continue to make his childsupport payments? Somebody mentioned I might be able to get a social security check for my son under my ex's social security??? Does anyone know if that is true or not? and how would I go about starting?

Thanks,
Melissa

Unless your ex has assets that can be converted to cash, he cannot get social security because he is incarcerated, so try public aid. Visit the state welfare office and talk with a caseworker to find out what kind of benefits that your children may be eligible for.
