i work in a small dental office full time, i took maternity leave for three month,while on maternity leave i found out that my job was given to the temp. and he demoted me to 4 -8 hours a wk, of course i decline, and now i am out of a job, still on maternity leave, he also denied my unemployment stating that he offer me part time, i will appeal, what are my rights ?

What state are you in? Unemployment is a state-run program.

Most states have a list of what qualifies a person for unemployment or not. For example, many states will consider the offer of a part-time job, or a job with a signicant reduction in pay, as a valid eligibility reason. However, I couldn't find such a list for Kansas.
Addition: I researched this further - it appears that you have to be completely unemployed in order to receive benefits.
