I went throught the internet and hired an attorney throught a pre paid legal service. They connected me toa firm to help with my situation. I was just wondering if anyone had any input on my situation. Visitation is diffrent from custody. Correct? So even though I got behind do to my illness I still have rights to my kids correct? So technically my ex can not withhold them from me?

no i'm 20 yrs old and my b/f is goin through almost the same thing but no the court order is you get visitation they can tack on more money to your support to pay the arrearages but no he should not be able to withhold your children from you...i would go to your case worker and talk to her bout this to get it all sorted out...

Visitation is a component of custody and support issues are handled apart from custody and visitation matters. If you are behind in support, it is not a reason to withhold visitation. If you seek to exercise visitation pursuant to a court order, I suggest that you call the police to make a report that visitation is being denied and provide them with a court order. Then you can seek a contempt order in the child support court and she will get the message that visitation is denied at her own peril. If you are behind in support for a valid reason, I suggest seeking reduction in child support temporarily.
