Hello everyone,

This is going to be a little confusing. But, I will explain it the best way I can.

I have 2 girls. And the father and I have Shared custody. I've been out of work due to Sciatica, and needed help with bills. The father wouldn't give me anything
because he fills he does alot for his babies. I do admit he keeps them as much as I do. I'm a stay in the house kind of girl. Don't get out often. Unless it's for work. And, he takes them out to different places. He attends all of the 4 year old activites in school. I've never even meet her teacher. Have sent in things for the class though! He carries life and Medical insurance on the kids also.

My thing is, he filed for Full custody this morning. After Social Service filed for Support with the Child Support Enforcement. He, admits that he will not pay child support to me when he does so much for the babies. I can't work and I know its a personal thing, but he can care less if I'm put out on the street.

I need to know if he can get away with getting full custody for these things I've mention! Do, I have a leg to stand on? He's a very nasty person, that's why we are not together. And, he will do what he can to prove me unfit!

Please Help!

I think he has a good shot at custody since you are not working and are not totally involved wiht the kids in a publicly visible way. Now, there is an argument to be made about your disability and that not preventing you from being a good parent, but I think he figures he wants the kids and does not want to help support you. If you are poor, I suggest goign to Legal Service or Legal Aid to get representation. You will need it. What is going for you is that courts often prefer to keep younger kids with their mother and it sounds like you are a good mother, but just have some medical issues, but you have managed to create a situation with the fahter where the children are well cared for and are not missing out on anything. That is to your credit, so this is a close one, but I believe you have a good chance too, but you need to get good legal assistance. If there is no legal services, contact a bar association to see if an attorney can represent you pro bono or for free.

Thanks Elklaw,

I know I have to get Legal Help because of how nasty he can be! I will be keeping the faith, and depending on God to get me through this.

Thanks again
