I work for a Payless Shoe store and I work every Wed. 9-5 alone and without a lunch break or any break for that matter. Is this legal?
I would say something but,I dont want to lose my job. They wouldnt fire me of course they would just make it hard on me so I would quit. Not giving me enough hours to work, not giving time off that I ask for,or saying things to me or loud enough so I will hear.

From IL's DOL web site:

One Day of Rest in Seven Law: Provides for employees a minimum of twenty four hours of rest in each calendar week and a meal period of 20 minutes for every 7 1/2 hour shift beginning no later than 5 hours after the start of the shift. The law allows employers to secure permits from the Department to work employees the 7th day provided that the employees have voluntarily elected to work.
