Is there any laws associated with riembursement of hourly employees gas while driving their private vehicles on the clock. We have numerous salaried employees that have amounts figured into their comp package.

I don't believe there is, (never heard of any) but then again I am new to the state of IL and could be wrong. I am curious because somebody had told me that there is some kind of law on that. It happens on occasion at our workplace and I know the riembusement would be taxable but not sure if there is anything else I should be aware of.

Anybody know?

Let me put it this way. If Illinois has such a law, it's brand new and this is the first I've heard of it.

You might want to check with the state DOL. If you find that there is a law requiring reimbursement, please post back and share it with us. Or you can ask the person who told you there is such a law, for the statute number.
