 Frustration is the nicest word I can find to use right now.
I live in Alabama and am a salaried employee, a manager. My company has noted that we are to work a 50 hour week, our check stubs say 40 per week, however my regional manager insists on a 55 hour week. We do not have set days off like most humans, so for instance this particular week i have worked seven days until my next day off, and that ends up being 84 hours in that 7 day period. I guess my question is does any one know what the laws are concerning the salaried employees in Alabama especially the overtime laws?
Thanks for any insight you might have.

It is not illegal to require an exempt employee to work a countless number of hours if that employee is "exempt". You can read about the definition of exempt at: http://www.dol.gov/elaws/esa/flsa/screen75.asp

Thank you Mrs Connell for replying.
I did look at your reply and the links, however I did not see an exemption for me and my fellow managers. We are managers for a casual dining concept.
Thanks

As a manager, you may fall under the executive exemption. Take a look at that exemption standard and let me know if it applies.
