I'm a nurse. This week my Director announced that every one would be required to start working an extra 12 hr shift every other week for mandatory overtime. Can I be Fired or Reprimanded if I refuse to do overtime. I agreed to work 76 hrs biweekly in my hire agreement??? Due to several pregnacies of coworkers we a short staffed. None of those employee's whom are pregnant will be required to do overtime. Help South Carolina

If you feel you are being discriminated against, check out www.eeoc.gov and see if you have a case to file.

Otherwise, an employer can request mandatory overtime.
