I live in Alaska. I was terminated today because the owner said that I didn't fit in. However, they sent me to Team Captain training a week and a half ago. The owner has been cold ever since I found mistakes on my paycheck that I asked them to correct. I also started asking more questions about how they were paying us. This was exactly a week before I was terminated. This is the second time that I have worked for the company. The first time I quit due to the fact that I was in my eighth month of pregnancy. At that time I was given a wonderful letter of recommendation from the same owner that terminated me today. I just don't buy the fact that it took this long to realize that I didn't fit in. Nor would they have promoted me 1 1/2 weeks ago. It is also odd that everything was fine until I started questioning and requesting corrections on my paychecks. Is this wrongful termination?

You are an at-will employee, so there does nto have to be a reason to terminate you. But you should make sure you are paid correctly, so I suggest filing a wage claim thru the state department of labor or suing for pay in court if asking for it does not work out.
