Well I applied for citizenship three months ago, not really in any hurry.
But things were moving faster than I could imagine. Long story short, from
the time I applied to the time I got my citizenship today: 93 days. I have
never heard anyone getting their citizenship this quick. I am not
complaining just glad it is over and dont have to worry about it anymore.
To all who are waiting for this process: good luck and your time will come.
The speed with which your application is processed has a lot to do with the
the workload of local service centres. I live in Tucson, AZ (which is
pretty darn quick).
I do have one question tho: On the citizenship certificate, it says "It is
punishable by U.S. law to copy print or photograph this certificate without
lawful authority." What does that mean? Can I copy it for myself?
Thans,

Perhaps you are right. If
you're the director of the USCIS, you only care about spending 5 months
re-writing the citizenship exam and making a big deal out of a few
citizenship ceremonies since that's what produces good media coverage,
and it's "patriotic" (see the front page of www.uscis.gov for
many examples).
Unfortunatly (for us) it also takes the country's
attention away from the massive backlogs and the poorly run (and
sometimes corrupt) application processes that millions of people are
stuck in the midst of right now. Sadly, the USCIS still doesn't realize
that this is their meat and potatoes.

Tuscon, AZ is one of the fastest centers for
processing N400 applications with priority date of Mar 21, 2004 (I
believe only CO offices are faster).
I applied in Oct 2003 in Los
Angeles and had my interview on Jun 24. Oath date unknown due to an
additional background check. So far no sign of any "election year
speeding up".
In Miami it is still Apr 2003 priority date (one of the
slowest for processing N400) - don't get your hopes too high...

We applied May 2003 and were sworn in December 2003
in NYC. Not bad for that office, at all.
