I have just checked the updated processing times for the Texas service
center.

On April 22nd, 2004 (the last update two weeks ago) they showed
that they were processing applications received on September 17th 2001.

Today, May 6th, 2004 they show that they are processing applications
received on November 15th 2001.

If I'm not mistaken that means that
means that in two weeks they have moved things along by two months.
Could they possibly be making some progress on clearing the backlog?

Anyone like to forcast where they will have reached when the next
update is given in two weeks time? I predict we might just make it into
2002!

If they keep up this amazing pace of two weeks every two months
then I expect to have my I-485 approved by Christmas 2004 instead of
Christmas 2006 :-)

Don't count on it. Don't get your hopes up.

My subtle use of
irony must have been too subtle. I assure you my hopes have not been
raised in the slightest!
