Hi, my name is Sarah and I'm 19 years old. I'm currently enrolled in school, and working a full tim job. It is a cruise boat at Navy Pier in Chicago. The job requires physical labour, ie. cleaning the boat from top to bottom before hand, and then afterwards. This takes about 2 - 3 hours. I also have to work the cruise and be on my feet the whole time. I'm not complaining about the money, just the schedual. I am schedualed from 4:00 pm on saturday till 5:00 am on sunday with one half an hour break. Then schedualed to return to work by 10:00 am the next day. This leaves 5 hours inbetween and 2 of those hours are commuting time. So - I get to sleep for 3 hours. There has to be some sort of law against this - is there?

It is not illegal as long as you are paid appropriately.

You may be exempted from overtime due to the fact that you work on a cruise ship.
