I am working for a company that I just got my 1st check and I worked 87 hours in two weeks. :eek: They said that they only pay strieght time no over time. :mad: I was not aware of this when hired. I have to work every other Sat. which will give me overtime.I need to know is this legal for them to do. I work for a real estate company in Georgia.Can someone please help me here??

It depends on if you are salaried, thus exempt, or hourly. If hourly, when you go over the normal shift numbers (and I say it that way because in some fields of work it is over 40 hours per week), you are owed overtime. If exempt, you are not paid overtime.

Just to clarify, even if you are salary, you are still eligible for OT unless you are also EXEMPT.

I am hrly. And I am a Asst. Property Manager.

What types of fields are u refering to??This is basicly sec/asst. manager.
