in AL have been employed w co for 6+ years as salaried employee--today was told that my job description wasn't listed as exempt (employer said I WAS THE hUMAN rESOURCE mGR AND THE cREDIT mGR)--was told to start clocking in -in the AM. How do I find out whether job descript is exempt or not? HELP

For the record, in August of last year the laws regarding who was and was not able to be considered exempt were tightened up. So it's possible that six years ago your position was considered exempt but under the new law it is not.

Of course, that begs the question of why it has taken from August of 04 to June of 05 for them to figure this out, but it's by no means outside the realm of possiblity.
