What is the situation regarding F-1 visas in India? Is there a
'recommended' consulate that has faster processing times? Last year I heard
about people choosing Chennai over Delhi. Any current trends I should be
aware of?

I'm applying to law schools, but any undergrad and graduate information
would be useful.

thanks,
Sachin

As far as I know, you have to use the consulate nearest your residence. i.e.,
if you live in Bombay, you can't apply for a visa in Delhi...
