I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW JOB AND FAMILY SERVICES (WELFARE) CAN MAKE A MOTHER OF 3 LIKE MYSELF WORK AS MANY HOURS AS THEY WANT ME TO FOR AS LITTLE AS 10.00 OF ASSISTANCE. THIS IS A PART OF OHIO WORKS FIRST PROGRAM AND WHEN I QUESTION THIS THE WORKER TELLS ME TO WRITE MY CONGRESS MAN WHATS THE DIFFRENCE IF SWEAT SHOPS ARE RUNNING OR WORKING A SINGLE PART 300 HOURS A MONTH FOR 60.OO IN FOOD. THIS IS SLAVIORY IS IT NOT :confused:

I don't think anyone is forcing you on welfare, unlike slavery which was often forced. If you feel you are getting paid too little for your work, you could always look for another job and get off welfare.

Welfare Reform Act in the mid 1990's is the culprit, but do not take it personnaly.

I think it is about time people have to do something, even if it is very little in exchange for the money they get for my hard earned tax money. It amazes me that a mother of 4 and pregnant with a 5th, and her live in boyfriend welfare is unaware of can collect 849.00 in food stamps to feed her children and yet I go out and put in a full days work to feed mine for much less than 849.00 a month. There needs to be more checking before handing out my tax dollars. If you need it by all means, but for a certain amount of time to get you through until you GET A JOB!

There are two sides to these stories. I don't expect everyone to agree, exspecially those who are on Welfare and stay on Welfare. I did not say that people should not use Welfare for help, perhaps you should go back and read my entry. What I said was that it should be used to get through a tough time not to support yourself. I have not judged anyone, I myself have had hard times and I have also used Welfare for a SHORT time. My child also has special needs and I pay for them out of my pay check from my job, although I should take the easy way since MY TAX DOLLARS are paying for it anyway. I understand jobs are not easy to come by, that is why you do what you have to do, if it means changing areas! McDonalds is always hiring!

"Slaviory" is not a word. You need an education as well as a job.
