View Full Version : US citizen seeking H1 job

Hi all,

Give the IT job market situation and me being a US citizen, I can
hardly get an interview from an employer. But, ironically, H1 or L1
visa holders are entering this country on a daily basis or their visas
are being renewed at an alarming rate. Nevertheless, instead of
fighting against H1 visa policies, I am considering joining the H1 or
L1 bandwagon.

What are my chances in landing one of these lucrative H1 jobs? Is
there anyway I can have the overseas recruiters to sponsor my job and
not to bother with the visa issues? By recruiting me, overseas
recruiters didn't have to deal with the visa problems and language
issues, since I am already a US citizen, have 6 years of IT experience
and knows the American business practices.

Now that I am living on my savings, either I should get an IT job
(which isn't likely in the near future) or work as an office
assistant, data entry personnel or as waiter as soon as possible. On a
different note, what are my chances to go to another country and
finding a job? All I am looking for right now is a job that gives me a
health care and a wage for me to afford my rent. That's all!

Given the number of US IT pros out of job, I am sure there are
headhunters recruiting them for overseas IT jobs. If anybody has any
information on this, I would really appreciate it. Thanks

scoob

I'm sure if you were to do some resaerch on the internet you would come

Why is it unfair?

hehe... this has been especially true in the period from, say, 1600 to
1900 or so. unrestricted immigration severely harmed the americans who
lived here before that time :)
