Hi,

I am in the process of applying for Advance Parole for my wife. It is taking
approx. 2 months to receive it from Vermont. She is planning to visit home
country for 2 months or so. Can she leave without the Advance Parole? On
receiving it, I will mail it to her and she can use it while returning. Does
she need Advance parole for leaving US?

Thanks,Jay.

No. the parole has to be approved before leaving. You could try for emergency
parole at the local office....

No, she needs to have the Advance Parole.

However, if there is a family emergancy or so there are ways to get a
re-entry permit. I do not know whether you need to prove that there actually
is a family emergancy.

You do have to have some kind of proof of emergency, like a fax from a Dr.
stating that someone in the family is gravely ill.
They can do an emergency AP at the local office. Like your
mastercard..........I wouldn't leave home without it.
Just make up an emergency, and have someone from home country swear to it.

I understand that if there is an emergency, the local office will issue AP.
However, is this true if my case is pending at the regional service center
(Vermont in my case)? Also if I have already applied for an AP to Vermont,
can I rush to the local office and request them to issue one immediately?

Thanks,
Jay
