Hello All

I am currently living in the UK, but plan to marry my US girlfriend in
approximately a years time, so we have decided to start building together
any information we might need for the visa now.

At the moment I am really just after some general information, good website
links, what information do the two of us need to gather, how much does she
have to be earning, etc. I read somewhere that I can apply for a work permit
right away, is this true?

Also I have debts in the UK, which unless something good happens between now
and next July I will still, unfortunately be paying them off, will this
cause major problems? will it cause any problems? I have to admit my biggest
worry is that my debts will prevent us from getting the visa, but am hoping
that so long as I am still making the payments, that it should not matter
where I am paying them from.

Hope someone can help me with any/all of the information I requested, good

What you have to decide is are you going to marry in the US or the UK. How
you go about getting to the US depends on that.

How you go about getting to the US depends on that.

We have already decided that we are going to marry in the US, I remember
reading somewhere that it makes life easier if you are going to live in the
US, to actually marry in the US.
