Hi, my employee of over a year gave me an Employee Handbook today for me to read and sign. Upon reading it I came across a paragraph that states: If I fail to give a two week notice she will dock me a days pay. Is this legal in the state of PA?

Thank you, Brenda

If I fail to give a two week notice she will dock me a days pay. Is this legal in the state of PA? No. That wouldn't be legal in any State.

You might want to pleasantly point out to your Supervisor that you believe that provision violates both State and federal wage and hour laws and suggest the company might want to look into that.
