Can someone clarify for me whether it is considered jaywalking to
cross the street between two intersections one of which has a traffic
light while the other is not "controlled." The California Vehicle Code
states:

21955. Between adjacent intersections
controlled by traffic control
signal devices or by police officers,
pedestrians shall not cross
the roadway at any place except in a
crosswalk.

I see no mention of my situation though (adjacent intersections, one
controlled, the other one not). Am I to assume that the provisions of
other sections apply, i.e. one can cross between the intersections,
but the cars have the right of way:

21954. (a) Every pedestrian upon a
roadway at any point other than
within a marked crosswalk or within
an unmarked crosswalk at an
intersection shall yield the
right-of-way to all vehicles upon the
roadway so near as to constitute an
immediate hazard.

TIA.

George

It is not Jaywalking if one intersection is controlled and the other
adjacent intersection is not controlled unless a No Crossing Sign is posted.
