It's very funny that you say this because I was looking at my divorce decree and there is no age or when they complete school specifications indicated. My ex said to my son at age 16 that he only had a couple of years left to pay but my son was just a freshman at the time. That is why I went back to the divorce decree plus it had not financial support for college guidelines specified. So, I went to my attorney and we decided to take him back to court to define this information in writing (which I have never done). My child support has stayed the same for 14 years. My ex is trying to say he doesn't make any more money than he did 14 years ago, he won't devulge his wifes income (which I devulged my husbands), and his attorney is proposing that he terminate child support when he turns 18 at the beginning of his senior year and have no additional support for college at all. So, we now have to go back to court for the 3rd time. My attorney is flabbergasted by the actions of my ex's attorney. My ex's attorney thinks this should of never come to court because it was all stated in the original divorce decree. She said this could of been mediated but everytime I try to talk to him he ends up getting verbally nasty with me. So I got tired of being treated so poorly by him that's why I took it to court.
Uugh! I'm so frustrated

18, but there are caveats like if the kid is still in high school, it will likely go on until then, and if the child goes to college or a post-secondary school, support continues until usually age 22, unless sooner graduation so long as progress is being made on the educational objective. So it is 18, but each situation is different in interpreting that and the caveats involved
