I've never been in this situation before. (having a lack of work)

We have several Full Time hourly employees and we are currently in our slow season. Because we are running out of tasks for them at the moment I am letting some of them volunarily clock out to go home early.

These employees are all at-will and don't have employment contracts. I would think that it is well within my right to send them home w/o pay during this next couple weeks while things are slow.(I would not cancel their insurance for working reduced hours Anybody know for sure?

This site really is a great place to share ideas and info.

I was considering sending them home early based off of seniority to eliminate chance of descrimination as well...

Yes, you are completely within your rights to send an employee home if you do not have any work for them to do.
