State of California - Original pay date was the 5th and 16th of the month, then it was changed to the 8th and the 22nd now it is around the 12th and the 25th. This has created a hardship on some people who live payday to payday and their checks are bouncing. Does the Co. have any resonsibility for the bounced checks since the employee was under the assumption that they would be paid on certain dates and those dates were changed.

They are probably not responsible for any bounced checks; however, they MAY be in violation of the law by changing the pay dates. Check with the state DOL.
