I actually have 2 quick questions.

1. How long are employers required to keep personnel files?

2. How many hours can part time workers work and remain "part time"?

Thanks sooo much. :)

1.) Since some records are required by Federal law to be kept for up to 30 years, a prudent employer will keep the entire file that long. However, they do not need to keep it on site that long; archiving is perfectly acceptable, as is putting it on microfiche, scanning it onto a CD, or whatever.

2.) As many hours as the employer says. What is full time and what is part time, is up to the employer (possibly with input from their insurance carrier).
