I worked in an elementary school in Georgia? Should we have a poster for unemployment? We didn't. Should they be reported. I wouldn't have known anything about it if I hadn't worked in the office of another job that had employees file unemployment.

Perhaps, but not necessarily. If you work for a public school district, your employer is probably what is called a "reimbursable employer", which means that they only pay into the UI fund when benefits are paid out. You can call the state Dept. of Labor to confirm but, even if there is the requirement, all your employer will probably receive is a slap on the wrist, maybe a small fine, and will be instructed to post the required notice.

If they deserve a slap and a fine I hope they get it.

They are so required regardless of whether they are reimbursable (which they would be foolish not to be). However, failure to do so does not even get them the proverbial slap. See below:

CHAPTER 300-2-7 REQUIREMENTS FOR EMPLOYEES AND EMPLOYERS 300-2-7

300-2-7-.15. Display of Posters For Information of Employees. (1) Employers shall post and maintain in places readily accessible to their employees all printed statements, posters, etc., released and required by the Commissioner of Labor or the Georgia Department of Labor pertaining to the rights of employees under the Employment Security Law. A packet of required posters may be obtained by contacting the nearest local office of the Georgia Department of Labor.

Yep, rjc, nothing I saw there mentioned anything about what happens to them if they don't. Actually, I'm not surprised.
