I work for a staffing company in CA I was given a raise in the
middle of month. I turn in my hours on monday i get a check
on friday. A representative shows up at my workplace and says
"you got a raise, it won't show on this check but it will on the next
and we will retro the amount we owe you from last week."
The following week I recieved the raise but no retro. I presented my check stubb
too out HR rep she called the staffing company and the said that it could
take 3 or 4 weeks. I never had this happen before. It has been 3 weeks now
and still no retro.

How long do they have to pay the money they owe me???
Are they aloud to take thier time??
What can I do?

If you like where you work ask the HR lady at the company you work at that you want to be part of their family and not work for the staffing company anymore. It sounds like the H.R. Rep. is already in the proccess of doing that so be patient. Technically the staffing company pays you not the company you work for. The staffing company does not have to give you a raise at all. They can keep the extra money. The question is will they have the company you work for as a client in the future. Believe it or not your in a position of strength right now. Just keep working hard and bring it up with the staffing company every pay period until they pay you.

I was working for I.A.T.S.E local 16 in san francisco and was asked to report over to oakland arena to do an install for the circus. About a wekk or so after the show was over I recieved a phone call from the buisness agent of the oakland I.A.T.S.E 107 that I didn't fill out the correct paper work so we worked out a way to fax all the right documents and so on. I have not recieved a pay check or even a phone call saying any thing about getting a paycheck. I called the local in oakland and after great pain got the number of someone in the payroll department at the arena. They never answered there phone even the operator had a voice mail . What can I do to get my money. The paper work I filled out is for SMG private managementfor public facilities
