If you were not terminated for discriminatory reasons such as race, age, creed, color, etc. and if you do not have an employment contract, there is not much you can do. Employers can change their policies AT WILL and terminate AT WILL as long as you are not singled out for specifice discriminatory reasons. Get in writing the reason you were fired. Go file for unemployment right away, in any case, since it is NOT retroactive and begins the week you FILE, not the week you are terminated unless that is the same week. Let me know if you have further questions and best wishes. Sue * Find more information on Termination. |
