Hi - I just switched departments and I looked at my schedule for next week and I have 74 hours because they are short handed. I don't want to work this and was told that I would be charged attendance points if I call in (so many points and you are fired.) I work full time at a major orlando florida entertainment organization. I was not told when I switched that my hours would go from the average of 40 to an average of 65+. Is there any way that I can fight this or do I just quit? Can they demand I work all those hours?

They can force you to work that time as long as you are paid appropriately.
