We are a small company in IL with few exempt employees that aren't considered management. We now....everyone but management have to swipe a time clock in and out for the day as well as our lunch. If they are keeping track of exempt employees time to the exact minute, is this allowed? I was always under the belief that salaried employees time is not tracked by the minute unless there was extra compensation. Can someone let me know?

It is not illegal to require exempt employee punch in and out as long as the time is not used to dock employee's pay or pay overtime on the extra time.

Am I entitled to see the time sheets that are then printed off for management in relation to my time?

If the punch time added to your personnel records, you can review them up to twice per year (Illinois). The question is whether this time is added to your personnel file. My guess is that it is not.

I ususally work 9-10 hour days.....if not more and it's not an issue, but if I happen to take off an hour or 2 early, can personal/sick time be docked? We are given 8 personal/sick days per year and I thought that as a salaried employee that if we come in for 5-6 hours and had to leave were were in for the day, as long as our work/job is handled.....can personal/sick time be docked now that we are punching in and out?

Yes, an employer can make up shortages in worktime with accrued paid time off benefits.
