My husband has worked for a company that builds electric motors now for 28 years...he has served in a management capacity on and off over the years. He was working as an engineer for a couple of years but a year or so ago they took him out of the engineer department and assigned him to a particular machine out on the floor...he runs this machine himself doing the manual labor. He is suppose to be training others on this machine, but most of the time there is no one else to run it so he must. Some days he works 10-12 hours and often has to come in and work a full day on Saturday...they have him classified as 'exempt' so they do not pay him any overtime...he is a salaried employee. Is he intitled to overtime compensation since he isn't really working in the capacity of a Manager but only carries the title?

It certainly sounds like he won't meet the definition of an exempt employee. He can file a claim with the state of Oklahoma. http://www.state.ok.us/~okdol/wh/w&h%20FAQ.htm#3.
